Frequently Asked Questions about Wedding Invitation

Here are some of the frequently asked questions about wedding invitation that I put together based on my experience. Remember, these are just suggestions and not rules; you can be as carefree as you wish!

WHEN SHOULD I SENT OUT SAVE THE DATES AND/OR INVITATION?

Save the dates should be sent out 6-8 months ahead. Printed version is not always necessary if you are on a budget. However, it's always nice to let your guests know ahead of time if you know the date will be popular, or if the wedding will be a destination event.

Formal invitations should be sent out 10-12 weeks ahead, especially for those who didn't sent out save the dates. This not only gives you plenty of time for an earlier RSVP deadline, it also gives enough time for guests to receive the invitation and have enough time make necessary travel plan; especially if you are having a destination wedding or you have guests traveling from afar.

HOW LONG IS THE PROCESS FOR CUSTOM DESIGNS?

Total time frame from the design process to receiving the final goodies usually take 4-6 weeks depending on what is requested as well as the respond rate from the client. Rush projects may be arranged with a rush order fee based on the work load. Production time will vary base on the type of printing, takes about be 2-3 weeks from the approval of the final design, and the amount of additional services needed.

WHAT KIND OF PAPER AND PRINTING METHOD DO YOU OFFER?

I work with a variety of different types of mediums! If you're into a textures and deckled edge, handmade paper is for you; and if you prefer a clean, modern look, I would recommend the house papers. Printing is done professionally by a local vendor whom I absolutely adore. The methods includes digital printing, letter press, and foiling. I do handle small quantity orders in house, but please keep in mind the types of paper and type of printing will be limited.

IF I DON'T LIKE MY PIECES, CAN I GET A REFUND?

Unfortunately, because everything is customized, a refund is not possible, but I will always communicate with you to the best of my abilities to get your desired outcome! Just a note that with printing, it is common for variables such as paper texture and color to affect the final product and vary from the digital proof. With calligraphy, no two handwritten letters will be identical. That's why communication is VERY IMPORTANT and I will do everything I can to make sure you love everything!
