Ending 2020 & Begin 2021 in Taormina, Sicily

Taormina1

One week into the year 2021 and so much had already happened! To be honest I found myself lost in all the noise. So I sat in front of the computer, browsed the web and my photos and tried to find some peace. Then I remember the last thing I did with the husband in 2020 was a day trip to Taormina, and I thought sharing the photos of the day will be the perfect reminder for myself and hopefully for you too. In the mist of chaos and restrictions, joy can be as simple as waking up to gorgeous weather, walking outdoors, or enjoying the company of yourself and/ or your love ones!

It was the day before Christmas Eve, the day before the new decree starts (Italian government had put in decree restricting movement between different commune for the holiday to prevent rise in COVID cases), we visited this charming town less than an hour from where we live. There are very few people and most of the shops and restaurants were closed because the same restriction was lifted not long ago.

The weather was perfect, sunny with a slight breeze, such a big change from the gloomy rain. Husband and I, masks and all, strolled down the main road, peeked into shop’s windows, admired the architectural façades, soaked in the gorgeous view and really enjoyed ourselves. With normal walking pace and very few people, we would have finished walking most of the town within an hour but because we had no plans (new for me!), no multiple stops lined up (new for the husband!) we stopped at almost every corner and spent the whole morning there. With little to offer Taormina already have my heart, cannot wait to come back again to see how this town is at its peak.

I hope you enjoy these photos and remember that in mixed energies, you my love can find light when you choose to.
